A Make Good Things Happen content collaboration with Makers and Shakers Markets
As part of our content collaboration with Makers and Shakers market we chatted with Claire, watercolour artist, natural dyer and environmental educator of Claire Mosley Art.
Claire is one of over 120 stallholders participating in the upcoming Makers and Shakers markets this 11 and 12 of November 2023 at Seaworks Maritime Precinct in Melbourne’s Williamstown.
Living on Wurundjeri Country in Narrm / Melbourne, Claire Mosley has been a maker her entire life. An artistic practice that is lively, curious and playful, Claire will be bringing products inspired by the natural world to Makers and Shakers Melbourne this November.
Launching Claire Mosley Art in 2016, Claire found painting with watercolours had become a way for her to capture her time in nature whilst discovering local flora and fauna. With her creative business, Claire aims to inspire others to open their senses and take a closer look at nature.
“The beauty of the Australian bush and it’s fauna continues to be a profound source of inspiration for me.
It’s truly special to see people get excited when they recognise a bird in my art that they’ve seen in real life.”

Claire’s art celebrates nature in a way that she endeavours to encourage others to learn more, educating through discovery.
With a rich offering from prints and notebooks, socks to tea towels, through Claire’s products shoppers can learn more about the birds of Merri Creek, the creatures of Darebin, the sea life found in Port Philip Bay or the intricate beauty within the flowers of the Eucalypts.
“Melbourne has so many rich natural places to explore. Port Phillip Bay, the Merri Creek, the Birrarung, so many amazing eucalyptus and acacia trees. I still go on walks to discover new green spaces in Melbourne.“

“Before starting my business I didn’t know how much joy my art would bring others.”

The interaction with customers at events fuels Claire’s creative spark, citing the collective energy in the space with so many creators as her favourite thing. Also the baked goods!
With a venue right on the sea water and the food, workshops and music, Claire loves the party vibe of Makers and Shakers.
Find Claire’s variety of offerings at the Makers and Shakers Melbourne event, on 11th and 12th November 2023 at the Seaworks Maritime Precinct in Williamstown.
“Markets are a wonderful way to connect with other creatives, to tell my story and showcase my art as well as meeting so many people from all walks of life! I get to tell the stories of my paintings and hear customers stories of their journeys in nature.

I am so proud of you Claire and all the amazing artwork you produce.
I check your on line picture frequently to cheer me up but to remind me of how hard you have worked from a very early age. I enjoy viewing your new work, your colourful, busy markets and of course your beautiful, smiling face. Photos of you and your work make my day. Always a joy. Jeanette
